Our department is dedicated to serving students from diverse and often economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Despite these challenges, our students exhibit remarkable determination and diligence in their pursuit of academic and personal growth. They strive to enhance their personalities, embrace positive cultural and social activities, and achieve their goals.
Our mission is to cultivate a thoughtful and inclusive academic environment where students can engage with the diverse perspectives and critical frameworks of philosophy. We aim to develop students' analytical skills, ethical reasoning, and intellectual curiosity. Our department is committed to understanding various philosophical traditions and exploring the fundamental questions of existence, knowledge, and morality. Through critical thinking and open dialogue, we strive to foster a deep understanding of both historical and contemporary philosophical issues.

Most of our graduates pursue Postgraduate courses at various universities after completing their Undergraduate Honours degree. Following their Postgraduate studies, several students have successfully qualified for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). One student has even been awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). It is noteworthy that one of our students has secured a position as an Assistant Professor. Additionally, many of our alumni have gone on to become Assistant Teachers and hold various positions as government and non-government officials.
