| The department of Physics was introduced in 2004. This department provides a good quality teaching and a good infrastructure laboratory. The laboratories of this department are well equipped and well maintained. This department presently have two full time faculties with one State-aided college teachers (SACT). There is a lab attendant in this department to help the students in practical. The class-rooms and laboratories of the department are sufficiently equipped and well-maintained. Both B.Sc. Honours and General courses are being taught by the department. Presently this department has intake capacity of 16 students. The teachers are committed to render high quality teaching as well as training skills in handling laboratory based experiments (for both Honours as well as General) as per the syllabus laid down by Vidyasagar University, West Midnapore, West Bengal. Students are taught through conventional classroom teaching with board work and also through power point presentations using overhead projector. Moreover, tutorial classes are arranged on regular basis for the students. There is a very good relationship between the teachers and students of the department. The teachers lend out their helping hands to the students for all academic matters on a regular basis. Besides, the departmental teachers also motivate students to engage in extracurricular activities like cultural competitions and sports activities. Department has a departmental library, which is fully accessible to the students. The students of the department have been securing quite high marks/CGPA in their University examinations. Some of the students of the department have successfully are entered into higher level education and different jobs in government and private sectors. |
