About:

The NSS units of V.S. Mahavidyalaya have started their journey in the early 90’s and have remained very successful in pursuing its activities till now. College has four N.S.S. units with four program officers as there monitoring heads. The basic objectives of N.S.S. are to encourage students for involvement in social welfare activities, to develop leadership qualities among the students and instill in them the spirit of amity and sense of community integration.

The N.S.S. units have a very successful record of participation and winning awards at the various National and International level programs. Many of our volunteers participated in several National Integration Camps and Pre-RD Camps. Some of our program officers have leaded teams of NI Camps, Pre-RD Camps and RD camps as state and university representatives.

Activities:

 

Major Achievements:

  • Anjana Singha attended Common wealth Day Celebration at Singapore as N.S.S. volunteer and attended International Youth Festival in China in the same capacity. She also owned the Indira Gandhi N.S.S. Award for the year 2007.

  • Dayamaya Das, N.S.S. volunteer of our college participated in the R.D. Camp 2009 at New Delhi as member of West Bengal team

  • Prof Rakhahari Pal represented our state at R.D. Camp 2009 as a leader.

  • Sri Dayamaya Das, N.S.S. volunteer of our college participated in the R.D. Camp 2009 at New Delhi as member of West Bengal team.

  • Sourav Bose and Kakali Mahata attended National Integration Camp in 2017.

  • Prof. Sreemoyee Mandal participated N.I. Camp in 2017 as team leader.

  • Sourav Bose of NSS unit -1 has own the Best Volunteer Award from Vidyasagar University in the year 2017.

  • Anupama Mahata and Dibakar Sing participated in Pre-R.D. camp held at Bhubaneswar in November 2017.

  • Two of our volunteers participated in National Youth Festival in in December 2017

  • Dibakar Sing participated in National R.D. camp held at New Delhi in January 2018.

  • Four of our Volunteers attended State R.D. Camp in Kolkata in January 2018.

  • Dr. Shantanu Mistri was awarded as the best NSS programme officer from Vidyasagar University for the year 2018.

  • Dibakar Sing of NSS unit -3 has own the Best Volunteer Award from Vidyasagar University in the year 2018.

  • Dr. Sujoy Birbanshi was awarded as the best NSS programme officer from Vidyasagar University for the year 2019.
