Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a cell proposed by NAAC for every accredited institution for quality sustenance initiatives. IQAC is an administrative body that deal with all quality matters for any institution. To increase the quality of education IQAC plays an important role. IQAC use to initiate, plan and supervise various activities that are necessary to the institution/College. i.e., the main task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. Without IQAC, it is extremely difficult to manage the quality system of teaching, learning and evaluation in a college/institution.

Role of IQAC:

• 1. The IQAC is a significant administrative body in any educational institution.
• 2. It contributes to maintaining quality standards in the whole process teaching, learning and evaluation.
• 3. It promotes co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the college.
• 4. It is a capable body to administer various academic/educational activities.
• 5. In colleges, the IQAC and its coordinator work under the principal and Governing Body.
• 6. The IQAC tries to include everyone in its activities.
• 7. Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
• 8. Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement and maintenance of institutional database for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
• 9. Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
• 10. Promotes research culture among the faculties.

Contribution of IQAC in quality assurance processes:

• 1. IQAC has suggested conducting seminars/workshops/conferences through online or offline mode.
• 2. PBAS forms of teachers are evaluated by IQAC.
• 3. Recommended for procurement of ICT infrastructure in the college.
• 4. Motivated faculties in research and professional development activities.
• 5. Encourage all the departments for co curriculum activities.
• 6. Online feedback system has been developed.
